Kannur: Customs seized one more car used by Arjun Aayanki, the key accused in Karipur gold smuggling case. The car belongs to Udinoor native Vikas and was used to escort the quotation gang. The car was driven by Pranav, who was Arjun’s friend and a native of Thimiri. The Customs officials interrogated Vikas and Pranav.
Customs Kasaragod unit seized the car on Friday. Based on the statement given by Arjun Aayanki who revealed that the car was used as an escort vehicle in connection with smuggling activities, the customs conducted inspection and seized the car.
The car is being kept at the Chandera police station. Pranav had hired the car from Vikas and used it as an escort vehicle, customs said.
