Kozhikode: In connection with the gold robbery conspiracy case, a man identified as Koduvally native Ijas (26) has been arrested. Ijaz is the brother of Sufiyan, who is suspected to be the key conspirator in the case.

According to the information received by the police, it was Ijaz who connected the Cherpulassery gang and Koduvally gang. Meanwhile, Ijaz denied the allegations raised against him.

Ijaz told the police that he came to the Karipur airport on the day of the incident to pick some other person. He is being interrogated.

The police had got the custody of 5 out of the 8 persons who were arrested from the Cherpulassery gang. They were interrogated for an entire night. However, the quizzing will continue due to their contradictory statements.

As part of evidence collection, they will be taken to Newman junction where clashes occurred and to Ramanattukara where the accident took place.
