Give only 10 pc seats to seniors; consider youngsters to win election, Youth Congress urges KPCC


The over confidence gained from the Lok Sabha Election resulted the debacle of Congress in the local body election, the camp members opined. If Congress did not field the candidates who have public support, the LDF will take advantage from the situation and win the polls, they warned.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Youth Congress has come up with criticism and a warning to the Congress leadership ahead of the state assembly election. The Youth Congress state camp executive held in Palakkad also presented a resolution including 20 recommendations to be followed in the upcoming election.

The resolution was passed with a warning that if the party leadership has any plans to field the same candidates as always, the youth wing will field the candidates of their choice. They also demanded to avoid those who had contested the polls four times in a row and to give opportunity to the young party workers.

Those who are continuously defeated in the polls should be replaced. Woman and people belonging to SC category should be included in general seats also. Special attention should be given to conquer the Nemom constituency, it is suggested in the resolution.

Only 10 percent seats should be given to the senior leaders. Candidates aged below 50 years should be appointed as block level presidents. Youth Congress and KSU leaders should be fielded in the constituencies where the party continuously get defeated, the Youth Congress suggested.
