Thiruvananthapuram: The girl student who attempted to commit suicide complaining of the unfavourable academic environment in the University College is planning to get her transfer certificate (TC). The girl hailing from Attingal arrived at the college with her parents to get the TC.
Since she had not decided which college she would join, the TC was not issued. Following this, the girl and parents had a meeting with University Vice Chancellor Mahadevan Pillai. He informed that the girl can continue her studies in any college of her choice and the arrangement for the same can be done.
It is learnt that the girl wants to continue her studies in Varkala SN College. She is likely to inquire about the same in Varkala College the next day and then request for TC from University College.
The girl had attempted to commit suicide after leaving a suicide note in which she mentioned that the classes are not conducted properly at the college and SFI leaders force students to take part in their programmes. Later, the girl and her parents gave statement to the police that they have no complaint in this issue.
Attingal police charged a case against the girl for suicide attempt. Following the incident, many political parties and organisations protested against the campus politics methods in University College.
