Thiruvananthapuram: Governor justice P Sadasivam has sought a report regarding the incident of a girl student of Thiruvananthapuram university college trying to end her life inside the campus.
The governor sought an immediate report from university vice chancellor V P mahadevan Pillai. Earlier, the state unit of KSU had petitioned the governor seeking an inquiry into the incident.
The girl student had slit her wrist inside a restroom inside the campus. She apparently had written a suicide note criticizing SFI leaders and college principal for denying her a favourable environment to study.
On Monday, the Cantonment police had recorder her statement. In her statement, the girl student had said she tried to commit suicide as she was depressed about not being able to study properly.
She said that no one had threatened her and added that she was not interested in moving forward with a case.
