Kannur: Resumption of unreserved coaches in Kerala is being delayed and commuters are left in the lurch due to this. Notably, commuters with ordinary tickets are not allowed to enter even in Antyodya trains which has sitting seats in all coaches. Similarly, in trains namely Malabar, Maveli and Mangaluru express, the seat needs to be reserved. Apart from this, waiting list ticket holders cannot enter unreserved coaches even in case of emergency. At present, only Alappuzha-Kannur executive train has unreserved coach during night travel and it reaches Kannur at 11:00 PM.

Meanwhile, the issue of ordinary tickets and season tickets for two trains from Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram began very late. However, from November 25, unreserved coaches were included in trains like Mangaluru-Coimbatore intercity, Palaruvi, Madhura-Punalur express along with Parasuram and Ernad
