G Raman Nair, 5 others join BJP
Thiruvananthapuram: Former Tranvancore Devaswom Board President and KPCC executive committee member G Raman Nair and 5 others joined BJP.
BJP national president Amit Shah welcomed them by clothing a shawl at a conference held at Hotel Taj on Saturday night.
Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair, Former Women’s Commission member Dr. Prameela Devi, JDS district vice-president Karakulam Divakaran Nair and Thomas John from Malankara Church were the others who joined the BJP.
The Congress party had suspended Raman Nair for participating in the programme conducted by the BJP.
Pandalam palace executive committee president PG Sasikumara Varma, other office bearers and representatives of various organizations engaged in the protests at Sabarimala also met Amit Shah. The Pandalam palace gave a memorandum to Amit Shah explaining the incidents that happened at Sabarimala.
He also held discussions with the new members of the party in a closed room avoiding media presence. BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai, V Muraleedharan MP, Thiruvananthapuram district president S Suresh and Kottayam district president N Hari were also present.
Amit Shah will return to Delhi on Sunday after visiting Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple at Thiruvananthapuram by 10 am.
