Full seating capacity in theatres won’t be allowed, declares Kerala govt
Thiruvananthapuram: The state government here on Saturday has informed that curbs in the functioning of cinema theatres will remain. The decision was taken in view of the COVID-19 spread in the state.
Theatre owners and individuals in the film fraternity have raised a demand that full seating capacity in theatres should be allowed. However, the state government made it clear that at this juncture no further relaxations can be made in the curbs associated with the functioning of theatres.
The state government is of the stance that only limited Covid-19 curbs are in force in the state. Among those limiting the seating capacity of theatres by 50 percent is a significant measure, noted the government after the review meet.
The government added that more people cannot be accommodated in buildings like theatres that function with an air conditioning system.
