Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that free ration supply will be carried out in the state from Wednesday.
He also noted that special arrangements have been made to avoid rush in ration shops.
“Holders of ration cards ending with the numbers zero and one will get free ration tomorrow (Wednesday - April 1). On Thursday, those who hold ration cards ending with numbers two and three are entitled to collect free ration. Holders of ration cards ending with numbers 6 and 7 will be allowed to collect ration on Saturday. The free ration will be supplied to people who hold ration cards ending with 8 and 9 on Sunday,” explained the Chief Minister.
The government aims to complete the free ration supply within 5 days. People who fail to collect their ration will be allowed to get it later. Only five people will be allowed in a ration shop at a time.
Addressing the press meet here on Tuesday, the CM stated that the local administration authority will intervene to carry out the ration supply in a public-friendly manner.
