Free food kit distribution to continue till April next year


The announcement in this regard was postponed as the model code of conduct exists till December 23. Cabinet meeting will be convened on December 24. Also the transfer of some high level civil servants will be considered.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan put forward suggestions in the cabinet meeting to continue the free food kit distribution till April next year and to disburse welfare pensions every month.

It is assumed that the free food kit distribution will cause huge expense. However, the chief minister hinted that the kit distribution should be continued in view of the upcoming assembly polls. The 100-day action plans indicated the other day will be discussed in the next cabinet meeting.

The cabinet meeting assessed the victory in the local body election. The chief minister made it clear that the poll results shows that the public have accepted the projects of the government. He also appreciated the ministers for implementing all schemes efficiently.
