Four Malayalis among 23 Indians working for IS
New Delhi: Intelligence agencies in the country have received information that as many as 23 Indians are working in the terrorist outfit Islamic State (IS), including four Malayalis. They are involved in the activities of the IS in Syria and Iraq.
Three persons were arrested in Telangana on Saturday for their suspected links with the IS. The agencies got the crucial information from them.
Seventeen persons from the southern states, including a Malayali woman, are working for the IS. The woman is Huda Rahim, a native of Kozhikode. Other Malayalis are Rishal, Irfan Iqbal, both hailing from Kannur, and Kozhikode native Riyasur Rehman, as per the information received by the agencies.
Others are from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
Six persons from India who joined the terrorist outfit have been killed.
