Pathanamthitta: Former Pathanamthitta District Congress Committee (DCC) president Babu George has quit the party. The leader announced the decision at a press conference on Wednesday and stated that he was severing all ties with the party.

George was earlier suspended from the party in February for allegedly misbehaving and attempting to kick open a door amid a meeting at the DCC office. Following this, he constantly levelled criticisms against party leaders.

Meanwhile, George slammed Anto Antony, MP and alleged that although the latter had been representing Pathanamthitta for 15 years, he had not done anything for the constituency.

“Anto Antony has not done any significant development activity here and is gearing up to contest next time too. Such people will destroy Congress. Anto is working only for his own profits,” George said.
