Former Miss Kerala mishap: CCTV visuals of DJ party hidden by hotel owner; Audi car followed models
Kochi: The police have found out that the digital video recorder (DVR) containing the CCTV footage of the hotel, which was raided as part of the probe into the accident that claimed the life of the former Miss Kerala winners and a friend, has been concealed. The owner of ‘No 18’ hotel in Fort Kochi had taken away the DVR with the CCTV visuals of the hall where the DJ party took place on the previous day of the mishap. This was found when the statement of the hotel workers was recorded.
From the CCTV footage obtained near the accident site, an Audi car was spotted chasing the car in which Ansi and Anjana were travelling. When police interrogated the people who followed Ansi’s car, they said that they only wanted to warn as Ansi and her friends were drunk. However, police are investigating whether these people had attended the same party in which Anjana and Ansi also took part and the probability of a clash between them.
The police had already collected the CCTV visuals of the bar and other areas. But suspicions escalated as the hotel owner hid the DVR containing the footage of DJ party hall and the parking area only. Ansi and her friends were spotted leaving the hotel soon after attending the DJ party at the hall.
Though the police inspected the hotel two times after the incident, the DVR with the footage of the hall was found missing. Later, the owner’s involvement became evident after the interrogating the hotel staff. Police will interrogate the hotel owner soon.
Police also moved to get Abdul Rahman, who drove the car in custody. A case has been registered against him for causing an accident while driving under the influence of alcohol and for involuntary manslaughter.
