Kochi: Veteran journalist VP Ramachandran passed away at his residence in Kakkanad here. He was 98.
He was a former editor of Mathrubhumi.
He has served in Lahore as international correspondent of news agency PTI from 1959. He joined Mathrubhumi in 1978 as executive editor. He was also the former chairman of Press Academy.
Besides Mathrubhumi, he has worked with UNI, PTI and AP as well in his career spanning more than five decades. The state government has honoured him with the prestigious Swadeshabhimani-Kesari award.
