Justice C T Ravikumar delivering the speech at the farewell reference organized by the Kerala High Court
Kochi: Newly-appointed Supreme Court Judge Justice C T Ravikumar was overwhelmed by emotions as he delivered the speech at the farewell reference organized by the Kerala High Court. Justice Ravikumar has been elevated to the Supreme Court after serving as High Court judge for over 12 years.
"At this moment of happiness, I prostate with the memories of my parents, father late K Devan, who was a Bench Clerk in Judicial first Class Magistrate Court, Changanassery, mother late Saraswathy and also my late elder sister Radhamani, whose blessings from the heavenly abode takes me to this position. I offer my pranamam to the almighty for blessing me with love," he spoke in a trembling voice riddled with emotions.
He said that their blessings are what propelled him to attain his current stature.
He added that P S Vasudevan, M K Damodaran and C P Sudhakara Prasad were his mentors. He also recollected the huge part played by former Advocate General, M K Damodaran in mentoring and shaping him to become an advocate.
Justice Ravikumar was appointed as a judge of the High Court in 2009. He had started practice in 1986 at Mavelikkara.
Former Supreme Court Chief Justice, Justice K G Balakrishnan, was the one who instructed him to shift from Mavelikkara to Ernakulam. He also reminded that there are no shortcuts other than hard work to become a good advocate.
Chief Justice S Manikumar said during the felicitation speech that hard work and modesty are the greatest qualifications of Justice C T Ravikumar. Advocate General K Gopalakrishna Kurup and Kerala High Court Advocates Association President Thomas Abraham took part in the felicitation. Other High Court judges and C T Ravikumar’s family also attended the function.
