Former block panchayat prez in Idukki tests positive for COVID-19; reports claim he visited Assembly
Thiruvananthapuram: A former block panchayat president in Idukki tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday. According to reports, he had recently visited the state Assembly and had close contact with a minister and five MLAs. He is the leader of an organisation subsidiary to the Opposition party.
He had been in quarantine since March 18. However, he has no foreign travel history. It is assumed that he caught the virus from Palakkad. He had had close contacts with many political leaders in Idukki district and the state.
Idukki district administration is trying to prepare his route map. He has travelled in KSRTC bus, train and car. He has also had close contact with many people from various districts as part of association activities. He also have gone to worship centres.
Reports also said that he had visited Palakkad, Sholayar, Munnar and Thiruvananthapuram and also took part in some meetings and protests.
A total of 126 active coronavirus cases have been reported in Kerala as on Thursday while 12 have recovered.
