Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George informed that the Food Safety Department of Kerala set an all-time record in non-tax revenue collection. Rs 9.62 crore has been obtained from the income generated from April 1 to August 31 in 2022.
Rs 7.71 crore was received from food safety licence and registration fees when Rs 78.59 lakh was obtained through fines.
The department could achieve more than a two-fold increase in revenue within the last three months, compared to the previous years. Escalated food safety inspections aided the department to improve revenue, the minister said.
