Flood relief: CMDRF receives Rs 39 crore as contribution in one week
Thiruvananthapuram: A total of Rs 39 crore has been contributed to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) from the day when huge losses occurred in the heavy rain to Friday evening. The amount includes the money directly brought to the office of the chief minister and the fund sent via online.
Delhi Kerala House is sending 22.45 tonnes of medicines and medical equipment to Kerala. About 12 tonnes of medicines have already reached the state by Friday. This includes insulin, gloves, antibiotics and ORS (oral rehydration salts).
Six tonnes of essential medicines including insulin and antibiotics will be brought to Kochi in the coming days also. A total of 2051 cartons of medicines including three tonnes of insulin will reach here in 400 cartons.
In addition to this, one crore chlorine tablets also will be sent to the state. The medicines are made available by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as requested by the state.
