Flash floods in Kannur, Kozhikode; Authorities suspect landslide inside forest

Kannur/Kozhikode: The authorities in Kannur and Kozhikode alerted the residents in forest ranges to stay vigilant after suspecting landslides inside the forest. The officials suspect that a landslide occurred at Nedumpoyil in Kannur and Vilangattu in Kozhikode.

According to reports, flash floods erupted in Seminari Kavala and Vilangad river on Saturday. Vilangad bridge was completely submerged following the flash floods.
Many shops in the area are also flooded.

Hilly areas in Kozhikode district have been receiving heavy rains since Saturday morning.

A warning has been sounded in Vilangad region following the flash floods. The authority also imposed traffic restrictions in the area. Heavy rains and flash floods are reported in Malappuram Karuvarakundu region also. Olippuzha river is in spate following the incessant rainfall.
