Fishing, sales banned in Alappuzha coast till July 16
Alappuzha: All fishing activities, including sales, have been banned in the Alappuzha coast till July 16. This decision comes after the latest reports on COVID transmission in the area.
The high level committee meeting held in the collectorate observed that COVID transmission in the district is increasing at an alarming rate. It was also pointed out that many fishing workers reached Alappuzha from other districts as part of fishing activities. On the basis of this, restrictions have been imposed from Thursday afternoon 3 pm to July 16. The collector has issued an order in this regard.
The source of many patients from places including in Thrikkunnappuzha could not be traced. This has been taken seriously by the authorities. Action will be taken against those who flout the restrictions on the basis of Epidemic Disease Act 2020 and Disaster Management Act 2005.
