  • Pomfret: Rs 550-600 (Rs 500)

Fisherfolk said that opening of bars in Kerala will further increase the demand for fish. There is an increase of Rs 40 to RS 150 per kilogram on all varieties of fish, said K. M. Shihab, a wholesale fish dealer in Chavakkad.

Meanwhile, the price has not reached the heights of Christmas last year, said Samikkutty, a fish trader at Blangad beach in Chavakkad.

A large section of the fisherfolk catching King fish, Pomfret and Tuna belong to Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari regions.
