Kozhikode: A complaint of ragging again surfaced at the Govt Medical college here. The first year MBBS students have lodged a complaint with the principal alleging that the senior students are ragging them without even allowing them to sleep at night.
The students revealed about the ragging when a teacher questioned some of the first-year students who fell asleep while attending class. The students informed the teacher that the senior students are ragging them without allowing them to sleep. Following this, the students filed a complaint to the principal.
The anti-ragging squad has convened a meeting under the principal after receiving the complaint. It has been hinted that the principal will declare the final decision on the issue by Saturday evening.
Only a few days ago, a first year PG student here had left the college and joined another college due to ragging. The first year PG students had accused the senior PG students of mentally torturing them and compelling them to do extra work. This led the authority to suspend two senior PG students here. Police had also taken action by registering a case against the accused students.
