First private train Tejas Express to launch service in Kerala
Kozhikode: Tejas Express, the first private train of Indian Railway will kick off its new service in Kerala. The service will connect Kerala via Mangaluru-Coimbatore route. The train will operate service on every day except Monday.
Railway aims to operate Tejas Express in Kerala as parallel to inter-city express. The train will depart from Mangaluru at 6 am and arrive Coimbatore at 12.10 pm. It will start return journey from Coimbatore at 2.30 pm and arrive Kozhikode at 4.50 pm and Mangaluru at 8.40 pm.
Meanwhile, the railway did not take any decision on the fare. The Tejas Express on the Lucknow-Delhi route is the Railways’ first experience of running a train by non-railway operator and its own subsidiary IRCTC. For this route, the ticket fare is fixed at Rs 2400. Details of the new Tejas train are provided in the official website of IRCTC.
Compared to fare of other trains, discounts in fare is not applicable for Tejas express. Extra price will be charged for additional services.
