Malappuram: A case has been registered under Kerala Police Act 118A for defaming Muslim Youth League state general secretary PK Firos on Facebook. Nattika constituency mandalam secretary of the party Fahad Rahman filed the complaint with Valappad police.

This is the first case to be registered under the controversial police act amendment. The move from Muslim league comes soon after the UDF leadership criticised the amendment.

The case pertains to using an image of Firos from the protest against the Sprinklr deal for fake campaign. Case was registered against Thilakan, who forged the picture by rewriting the words in the placard on the hands of Firoz, to appear it against Kamaruddin and Ebrahim Kunju. No action has been taken yet on the case.

Meanwhile, Firos in a Facebook post said that he has instructed Fahad to withdraw the complaint.
