Major fire breaks out at shopping complex in Kannur

Kannur: A major fire broke out at a shop near the national highway in Thana, Kannur on Sunday. The blaze erupted in one of the shops on the second floor of a shopping complex. There are 15 shops in this shopping complex.

Since the shop has been vacant for quite a while, no casualties or property damage have been reported. Two fire brigade units from Kannur have reached the spot and are trying to contain the fire from spreading to other shops in the vicinity.

As per the latest reports, the firefighters and locals are trying to control the flames from spreading to a nearby electronics store. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
