Thiruvananthapuram: The finance department has decided to merge the deferred leave surrender amount of government employees with the Provident Fund (PF).

The government has prohibited withdrawal of this amount for four years, considering the state’s financial crisis.

The leave surrender amount was not given in 2020-2021. Even though the leave surrender amount was merged with the PF during Covid-19, there was no restriction to withdraw the money.

Employees will have a leave surrender amount equal to one month’s salary. Authorities said the decision was for the current year.
