Film poster row: Minister Riyas says PWD ready to accept criticism; make changes

Thiruvananthapuram: PWD minister PK Mohamed Riyas on Thursday gave his honest opinion about the cyber attacks faced by the makers of "Nna Thaan Case Kodu", a Malayalam movie, over a poster published in the newspapers.

He said that as a PWD minister, he is ready to accept the criticisms and suggestions about his department. He further asked those who criticised the filmmakers not to make a fuss about it.

The poster called for people to attend the theatres even though there are potholes on the roads. However, many people came forward against the tagline used in the poster.

"I am not aware of the cyber attack against the cinema. However, it is not the first time that PWD was trolled in the cinema. To people, the condition of the roads needed to be better. PWD is also planning to make things better," he said.

"We are taking measures to introduce facilities to make roads better. First of all, a proper drainage system is needed to protect the roads from getting destroyed due to water logging. Secondly, the weather condition in the state is a problem. It is observed that the fund allotted for road works is not utilised properly. This cannot be entertained," he said.

He remarked that PWD had implemented a system to address complaints.
