Kochi: The demise of actor-turned-politician Innocent has left the film fraternity in tears as they struggled to find words to reflect the life of the late star. Actors Mammootty, Dileep, Jayaram and others visited Innocent at the hospital on Saturday night. Actor Jayaram, who acted alongside Innocent in numerous films, was in tears when he left the hospital.

He praised me for acting in a minor role in the movie Godfather. I still recall such moments with him. He is an actor who created his own style and got acknowledged by the people, said actor Harisree Ashokan to Mathrubhumi News.

Actor Jayasurya reacted by saying that he could not believe that Innocent was no more. He was always in touch with me apart from being an actor working with me. He often cracked new jokes and interacted with everyone without impediments, Jayasurya added.

Director Mohan recalled Innocent as a close friend who always walked into his life without hesitation. He added that Innocent always smiled even at times when he faced struggles as an upcoming actor.

Director Sibi Malayil remembered Innocent as an individual who always held humour in his life.

Dulquer Salmaan in his Facebook post said: "We lost the brightest shining star in our constellation. You made us laugh till we cried. You made us cry till our insides hurt. You were an actor of the highest calibre. One of those timeless all-time great. Beyond that, you were all things wonderful. You were all heart. You were my childhood. And I grew up to act alongside you. And you regaled us with stories then and now. Always gathering people. Always lifting them up. My thoughts are all over the place. As is my writing. I love you dearly Innocent uncle. Rest in peace."

Actor Babu Antony remembered Innocent by saying he spent some unforgettable moments with the late actor since his first movie 'Chilambu'.
