File declaration for using private vehicles, says Kerala DGP
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala DGP Loknath Behera said that passes will be provided for the essential services as the state has entered lockdown. He was addressing the media here on Tuesday.
The DGP stated that mediapersons and government employees can travel using their identity cards. Those who use private vehicles should submit a declaration. If people furnish incorrect details in the form, strict action will be taken against them.
The passes will be provided by the district police chiefs. Vehicles supplying medicines will be exempted. Taxis and auto rickshaws should be used only for taking essential items, medicines and medical equipment. Strict action will be taken against those who travel without proper reasons, the DGP clarified.
Exemptions will be allowed only for the essential services and the concerned people. The police will give a pass to such people and those who do not have the pass will have to face action. Police force led by IGs, DIGs and district police chiefs will be present on roads to implement the lockdown without any fail, the DGP informed.
