Alappuzha: A poster is being circulated in Ambalappuzha constituency against fielding H Salam as CPM candidate for the assembly election. The poster reads that the party will lose the seat if G Sudhakaran is replaced by SDPI worker H Salam. The poster was pasted on the wall of the martyr’s column at Valiya Chudukadu here.
The poster includes questions like whether the government does not want to continue in power and how victory be guaranteed without fielding Sudhakaran. The posters appeared when the CPM Alappuzha district secretariat and district committee were to be held on Saturday.
The party workers are annoyed for denying seat to ministers G Sudhakaran and Dr Thomas Isaac, who are prominent leaders from the district. It is opined that changing the popular leaders will result in a setback. CPM has decided to replace some other ministers like C Raveendranath, A K Balan and E P Jayarajan also.
