Palakkad: The field survey (Joint Measurement Survey) prior to the land acquisition for Kozhikode-Palakkad Greenfield National Highway construction began from Pantheerankavu, where the Inter Corridor Route 34 on National Highway 66 ends. The survey will start in the Malappuram and Palakkad districts within a week.

Three offices are carrying out the field survey under the supervision of deputy collectors, who have the charge of land acquisition for the NH department.

The measurement of acquiring land has been calculated by recording 25 per cent additional land for preparing the alignment. However, only the required 45 metres will be measured and utilised during the construction. Hence, the actual land acquired will be lesser than the notified area declared in the 3A notification released in the first week of June. Therefore, a total of 547 hectares will be acquired in all three districts for the project.
