Fazal murder case should be re-investigated by CBI: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan
Thiruvanathapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the Fazal muder case. As the real culprit involved in the murder of RSS activist Sunil has been nabbed, the CBI should investigate the Thalassery Fazal murder case too, said Kodiyeri.
He held that High court of Kerala has acquitted the CPM activists who were allegedly put behind the bars in connection with Sunil murder case. When the case was re-investigated, the accused who has link to a terrorist organisation has been arrested by the police.
Kodiyeri Balakrishnan mentioned that accused RSS activists who were arrested in connection with the Mohanan assassination in Thalassery had revealed their roles in the Fazal’s murder.
“Video footage of this had also surfaced. Though the evidence was handed over to the CBI by the police, they were not willing to take any action for re-investigation," Kodiyeri said in a press release.
Kodiyeri held that Karai Rajan and Karai Chandrasekharan have been exiled for 8 years without being able to go to their native place. He demanded the CBI to take steps to acquit innocent Karai Rajan and Chandrasekharan and bring the real culprits to justice.
"Despite the evidences of RSS acticivists' role in the murder, many innocents are being arrested. Punishing the innocent is a gross injustice to the judiciary and a violation of human rights" Kodiyeri added.
