Kochi: A Father-son duo were arrested for beating a man to death in Vypin near Ernakulam on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Sanal (34), hailing from Edavanakad.
According to the police, the accused, Venu and Jayarajan attacked their neighbour Sanal for allegedly removing a fence on their boundary wall on Wednesday night. It was alleged that Sanal often removed the plastic fence despite opposition from the accused. On Wednesday night, a brawl broke out, leading to the accused attacking Sanal using gardening tools. After severely beating him, the accused left Sanal behind.
Later, police took him to the hospital after locals notified them about the incident. Initially, he was taken to Paravur Government hospital. However, the hospital directed the police to take him to General Hospital. He was pronounced dead by the time he reached the hospital.
