Farmer commits suicide in Wayanad

Kalpetta: A farmer has committed suicide at Marakkadavu in Pulpally of Wayanad. The farmer is identified as Chulugod Enkittan. His relatives said that he ended his life due to financial liabilities.

Marakkadavu is a place close to River Kabani and Karnataka border. Kannada speaking people also reside here. Despite the presence of the river, the area suffers severe drought and this affected the cultivation here.

As per primary assumptions, financial liability is the motive for suicide. However, the details of the loans and the banks from where he borrowed are not available. The body is kept at Bathery Taluk Hospital and will be brought home by afternoon.
