Kozhikode: The family of a man, who drowned in a canal in Kinaloor four months ago, has raised suspicion of murder.

Dileep’s wife Aparna has filed a complaint with the Vadakara Rural SP demanding those responsible for his death to be booked. Police took into custody two persons and interrogated them in relation to the case. Both were released later.

The complaint had mentioned the name of another woman who was also interrogated on Monday. According to a report, there were contradictions in the woman’s statement.

Balussery station inspector MK Suresh Kumar said a case had been registered and they interrogated around 70 people in relation to the case.

Dileep had gone missing on August 25. His body was recovered from a canal near his house the next day. The post mortem report mentioned drowning as cause of death. But his family said Dileep was a good swimmer and the canal was not deep.
