Thiruvananthapuram: A woman from Melarannoor in Karamana attempted a "suicide drama" puzzling the police and social media authorities. The incident took place at around 4 pm. The woman told Karamana police that she posted pictures of the fake “suicide attempt” on Instagram as a joke after her live-in friend left house following a fight.
The Instagram monitoring cell saw the pictures posted online and informed the Kochi City Police Commissioner. The police identified the location as Karamana and within 15 minutes, the woman was located. The police found that the woman was safe.
The woman and her friend, a man hailing from Mambazhakkara, have known each other for the past three years and have been living together in a rented house near Melarannoor. Both had a fight and he left the house. He didn’t return home for a long time and that prompted the woman to post pictures to scare him. The woman used tomato sauce to replicate blood.
The man returned sometime after the police reached the house.
The police said that the woman was sent with a relative. The incident first came out as a timely, life-saving involvement of the police.
