Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has warned of extremely heavy rain in Idukki and Wayanad districts for two more days. More rainfall is likely in Idukki, Wayanad, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts on Friday. Extremely heavy rain is predicted in Idukki, Palakkad, Wayanad and Thrissur on Saturday, said IMD director K K Santhosh.

Heavy monsoon in Kerala will continue for two more days. Extremely heavy rainfall occurred in Idukki and Wayanad within the last 24 hours. This will continue for next two days. About 20 centimetre rainfall is likely in other districts. Only Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts will receive low rainfall.

Gusty winds at a speed of 55 kilometre per hour is likely and fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea. Rain is likely to recede after August 10. As another depression is likely to form above the Bay of Bengal on August 9, rain will continue to lash the state heavily till August 10.
