Alappuzha: Taking a dig at M K Raghavan MP’s controversial remarks, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that opinions should be expressed at party events.
Speaking to mediapersons in Alappuzha, Venugopal said, “There might be difference of opinion within our party. I’m not saying there aren’t any. Congress has a way of settling all differences amicably.”
“Talks about reorganisation are taking place because Congress is a democratic party. You never ask about what is going on within the CPM, do you? No matter how far it goes, one should avoid discussing party matters outside. Opinions should be expressed within the party,” Venugopal added.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will seek explanation from MK Raghavan on his criticism of the party at a public event.
On Thursday, Raghavan had sharply criticised the Congress leadership at an event organised to present P Sankaran Memorial Award to former KPCC president VM Sudheeran in Kozhikode.
He accused the Congress of following a use and throw culture and said that one had to keep quiet if they wished to climb up the ranks of the party.
