Expelled by NCP, Mani C. Kappan set to form new party

New Delhi: Following his entry into UDF, the Nationalist Congress Party has officially expelled Mani C. Kappan from the party.

In a press conference, NCP secretary S. R. Kohli informed that Mani C. Kappan has been expelled from the party. The decision was taken after Kappan announced switching to UDF on his own. The NCP national leadership informed that Mani C. Kappan’s actions were against the organization.

After the LDF denied Pala seat, Kappan had brought himself closer to UDF. The following day, Kappan attended the ‘Aishwarya Kerala Yatra’ led by Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala.

After joining UDF, a meeting held by the Mani C. Kappan faction had initiated steps to form a new party the other day. The meeting decided to reorganize all district committees by February 28. A 10-member committee has been appointed to create the name, rulebook, flag and registration of the new outfit. Mani C. Kappan is the chairman of the committee while Adv. Babu Karthikeyan is the convener.

Supporters of Mani C. Kappan will soon resign the posts of corporation chairman and board members.
