Ansi Kabeer and Anjana Shajan, No 18 hotel
Kochi: In connection with the accident in which former Miss Kerala and runner-up were killed, the Crime Branch is investigating the after-party organized at ‘No 18’ hotel on the day of the incident.
It is suspected that Shaiju Thankachan, who was interrogated by the police, sought anticipatory bail fearing his involvement in the case would come to light. They are probing why Shaiju filed anticipatory bail plea though there was no mention against him in the custody request.
Shaiju was the one who followed former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabeer and runner-up Anjana Shajan in an Audi car and reached the spot minutes after the accident. The Crime Branch will probe if he had invited the models to the after-party which was held at the hotel the same day.
After-party is a drug consuming event that is more secretive than DJ parties. Celebrities from film, business and political sectors take part in such events. Only those who are selected from the DJ party are invited to the after-party. It is learnt that the ‘No 18’ hotel used to organize after-party for VIPs frequently.
Shaiju followed the models and friends after they refused to take part in the after-party. After the accident, Shaiju had informed Roy about the same. The Crime Branch will investigate if he was involved in excise and narcotic cases earlier.
