Idukki: Excise department sleuths nabbed a notorious history-sheeter from Nedumkandam here while distilling illicit arrack. The arrested is Santhosh (known by the name Chakrapani Santhosh), a native of Karunapuram.
The officials seized 20 litres of illicit arrack and 30 litres of sour (fermented) toddy. They also recovered equipment used for making the arrack.
As per police records, Santhosh is accused in four shooting cases, in which he attempted to murder four individuals. He has also served jail term. He was released just eight months ago and the excise department’s intervention comes in the wake of intelligence inputs.
