Kochi/Kollam: An excise official in Kochi, a KSRTC conductor in Kollam and a police officer at Aryankavu checkpost have been confirmed with COVID-19.

The circle inspector of north division of Ernakulam excise range was diagnosed with COVID-19. He had taken an accused in an NDPS case for medical check-up.

After the accused tested positive for COVID, the CI was quarantined and later tested positive. Following this, 15 other officials in the office and the CI's family also were quarantined.

Nilamel native KSRTC conductor was working in Chadayamanglam depot in Kollam. He came to the depot lastly on July 18. Later, he showed symptoms and was confirmed with the disease in COVID test.

Following this, Chadayamangalam depot was closed. Nilamel area has been declared as containment zone. 15 colleagues who came in contact with the conductor were quarantined.

The police officer at Aryankavu checkpost hails from Eravipuram. He is the second police officer to be infected with the disease in Aryankavu checkpost. After he was diagnosed with COVID-19, other police officers who were on duty at the checkpost have been quarantined.
