Excise books man for growing cannabis on home premises


Koothuparambu: The state excise has booked a man for growing cannabis at his house in Kaitheri's Laksham Veedu colony in Kannur.

Koothuparambu Circle Excise unit found three cannabis plants in a vegetable patch near the kitchen. Following this, PV Sijish, house owner, was booked by the excise officials.

The raid was conducted by the Pinarayi Range excise inspector and his team based on secret information.

Meanwhile, Sijish eloped from the house soon after the incident. The excise officials said the accused had been previously charged in ganja cases in various police stations.
