Bike rams lane divider in Alappuzha killing ex-serviceman, injuring pillion rider

Mankamkuzhy: An ex-serviceman died in a bike accident in Alappuzha on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Mavelikara native R Ratheesh Chandran (38).

The accident happened on Saturday evening. Ratheesh was pillion riding at the time of the accident. According to reports, the bike lost control and rammed into a lane divider on the Thattarambalam-Pandalam road.

Bike rider Vinod Kumar, who is from Vettiyar, is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries at a hospital in Thiruvalla. Unfortunately, Ratheesh, could not be saved despite being rushed to a hospital in Edappon and later to Thiruvalla.

Ratheesh was working as a public relations officer at Janatha Motion Picture. He is survived by his mother, J Radhamani, wife, Aswathy and children, Meenakshi and Lakshmi.
