Even NSS karayogams oppose Sukumaran Nair's stance: Kodiyeri
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state chief Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has come down heavily on NSS for openly supporting UDF in the coming by- election in the state. He alleged that NSS decision to back the UDF candidates has come from their general secretary and the decision itself is being questioned within the NSS karayogams in the state. Kodiyeri also added that the CPM, Congress and BJP loyalists from within NSS will only support their respective parties irrespective of what the NSS chief says.
Kodiyeri informed that a complaint has been filed against the NSS to the election commission in connection with the issue. “Religion and caste-based organisations should not interfere in political matters, as it would destroy the secular foundation of the state. Kerala is a secular state. Such interventions will only damage the secular foundation of the state,” Kodiyeri added.
The CPM leader said apart from providing joy to Congress party workers in the state, Sukumaran Nair’s proclamation will not have any impact in the state by- election.
