ES Bijimol excluded from CPI Idukki district secretariat

ES Bijimol

Thodupuzha: Former MLA ES Bijimol has been excluded from the district secretariat of CPI.

She is a former member of the top body of the party in Idukki and a prominent women leader in the state.

She was the choice of the state leadership for the district secretary in the conference held last year. However, she faced competition at the district conference and lost to K Salim Kumar. It was reported that Salim Kumar was the candidate backed by former minister KE Ismail who allegedly led a faction at the state-level to oust Kanam Rajendran as state secretary. However, the coup did not succeed and Kanam was reelected for a third consecutive term.
