Kannur: On the second day of Kerala State School Sports Meet, Ernakulam district cruised ahead of Palakkad with 44 points in the 22 events completed so far followed by Palakkad with 41 points and Kozhikode with 32 points.
Among the schools, Kothamangalam Mar Basil and Thrissur Natika leads with 13 points each. Kozhikode Poovambayi and Palakkad Kumaramputhur are a close second with 11 points.
In the high jump competition of junior boys, Bharat Raj of St. Thomas, Kozhancherry has secured the first place by jumping 1.92 metres.
Kesiya Mariyam Benny of MA College sports hostel, Mathirappaly has bagged the first place.
Sprint events are scheduled to take place later in the day.
