CPM-CPI clash in Kalady: CPI workers injured in attack


Ernakulam: Two CPI activists were hacked amid a CPM-CPI clash in Kalady. The incident took place on Friday night.

Xavier and Christin Baby, both natives of Puthiyakara, sustained injuries in the incident. The victims were admitted to Thrissur Medical College hospital.

The CPI alleged that the assailants were led by the DYFI unit secretary. There was a dispute the other day regarding Christmas celebration. Following this, they attacked victims after trespassing into their house.

Earlier, there was a dispute in the area after some CPM activists joined the CPI. Police said that both groups have criminal backgrounds.
