New Delhi: CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury informed that the current political developments in Kerala will be discussed at the Politburo meet to be convened on Tuesday at 3 pm.

When asked if the Politburo would discuss the allegations raised against EP Jayarajan, Yechury replied that the current political situations in Kerala will be talked about, without mentioning the controversies against EP Jayarajan, in particular.

It has been reported that the Politburo will consider the controversies against EP Jayarajan seriously as it brought to light the fissures in the party which may affect the party’s stature in the state. The central leadership has directed the party’s state faction to decide over the investigation in the accusations raised against the LDF convener. However, any action requires the approval of the central committee as EP Jayarajan is currently a member of the CPM central committee.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan arrived at Kerala House after visiting the Prime Minister. He will head to attend the Politburo meeting soon. CPM state secretary MV Govindan will reach Delhi by 2.30 pm. MV Govindan is likely to explain the charges of illegal property acquisition alleged against EP Jayarajan.
