EP Jayarajan attacks V Muraleedharan, says Minister should have informed truth on EMCC
Thiruvananthapuram: Industries Minister EP Jayarajan on Tuesday reiterated that there has been no lapse from the part of Kerala ministers regarding the purported agreement concerning the deep-sea fishing project.
Speaking to reporters here, he attacked Union Minister V Muraleedharan who claimed the Centre had informed the Kerala government of the response from US Consulate stating the firm EMCC International was not a trustworthy entity.
“Shouldn’t a Union Minister pass on the information he received to us? The Centre might have informed Muraleedharan that EMCC International was fake. However, he has not informed us,” Jayarajan said.
Muraleedharan had alleged that Kerala government signed the MoU with the US-firm, 4 months after informing the company was fake. Jayarajan slammed the former while responding to reporters’ question related to it.
We received no information of any sort as such. There was no lapse from the state government. The media is misinterpreting and misinforming the public, Jayarajan alleged.
He also added that no land was handed over to EMCC and hence there was no question of cancelling the deal.
